Northern Ballet - The Nutcracker Tree

 

Working alongside Northern Ballet we were tasked with concept creation and installation of a 15 foot Christmas tree on the South concourse of Leeds train station. The tree marked the start of a new project running alongside the “Magical Leeds” initiative and Northern Ballets partnership with Hammerson (the owners of the Victoria Quarter and upcoming Victoria Gate development).

 

The brief for the tree was to create a magical centerpiece to grab travellers attention when traveling through the station. The small amount of time travellers had to take in the tree meant that the Nutcracker had to be instantly identifiable. We chose striking colours for the tree to represent the bold palette of the Northern Ballet production and installed overnight late November. The tree cemented our passion for Visual merchandising and decoration and was a really special project to begin the festive season.
